Size & weight are good for my young granddaughter. This made a good gift as she was interested. Good value for money

My grand daughter Ellie absolutely loves this surprise I purchased for her. It brought me back to my childhood.

This baton has held up under all kinds of play. My granddaughter loves to pretend it is a lot of different things. The twirling gun never gets boring.

Seller shipped super fast and item was packaged well. I remember my batons as a child as having rubber as opposed to plastic ends. They were also heavier. This is very lightweight but balanced so it's a great beginner baton for children (figure pre-k through 3rd grade). Unfortunately ours came damaged. The plastic cap on the end was cracked (plastic) and slips off. This is a potential hazard for my daughter. Seller immediately issued a refund and doesn't even want me to ship the old product back. That tells me they stand behind their product and that means a lot to me. I think I just happened to get a defective one. Overall I'd recommend it but be careful of the plastic ends. I would definitely buy from this seller again because they obviously care more about their customers than making $15 off me! So thank you Schylling! Your customer service policy has earned you a new loyal customer. I'll be looking to order another one from you. Hopefully you make one with rubber ends. I don't mind paying more for my daughter's safety.

Bought this years ago for my daughter but used it to kill a mouse that had invaded our bread. Yes, I felt and feel horrible for having taken its little life. I could have set the bread outside and hoped it fled into the corn field. But I freaked out. It was sturdy and held up to the weight of my slams. It took a lot but I ultimately bent it. My daughter has since grown and I decided to replace the baton as promised all of those years ago. I searched and searched before finding it here on Amazon. So yes, buy it for your kids but beware that it could be used to bop each other on the noggin if there is more than one child in the house.

Based on the reviews I read before my purchase, I thought the baton would be a heavier weight than it turned out to be. It's light. Several reviews described it as "not a toy". Well, it is. My daughter is taking a baton class through our Parks & Rec (nothing serious) but when she brought the Schylling baton, they quickly handed it back to me and gave her a heavier weight baton that they brought. So, I ended up spending about $30 on another baton. And yes, just from what the instructors showed her on the first night of instruction----there's a big difference in a heavier baton and a light weight one. The light weight one isn't as easily controlled as the heavier one and is too easily moved, I guess you would say. It's fine a fine product and well made as are all Schylling toys but I would put and keep it in the toy category.
