Works well. a little loud, but less loud than the cheaper versions
First: yes, this is a 'pass through' pump, and allows fuel to flow when off. I use it to prime my carb after my truck has been sitting for 2+ days. I have it on a momentary, push-button switch, and i prime it for 3-5 seconds then crank it over, and my mechanical pump takes over from there. It has been working (though I run it just a few seconds at a time) for several months- still strong.

Nice unit.
Putting a BB Ford on road after 5 years. Failed mechanical pump. Used this as it matched edelbrock card requirements. Easy install. Built own harness. Make sure your keyed connection can carry 5 extra amps or run (quality) relay. Nice unit.

Defective
Defective out of the box, left me on the side of the road. Very loud spit a little gas but not enough to do anything but idle. Switched back to the Edelbrock.

Not that bad
I was worried because a lot of reviews said it was extremely loud. I mounted mine to the frame rail below the cab, and I used about 3/8” of foam padding behind it to insulate the sound. It’s very quiet, easy to mount, and you can barely hear it working away when the engine is off (I have it wired to a switch through a relay). I would buy again if I needed it. I’ve only had it installed for one long drive so I can’t say anything about longevity.

Loud
I installed this pump back at the fuel tank on a 55 Chevy using 1/8NPT to 6AN adapters. The car has a standard 3/8" steel fuel line running up front with a regular inline fuel filter (WIX 33033) on the suction side of this pump. This pump put out 5 PSI at the Holley carb without any regulation. Big downside is it quite a bit noisier than the cylindrical style pumps. You can hear it over glasspacks!!! Wouldn't recommend this one. And if your running any of these external electric fuel pumps regardless of type or brand please buy and carry a spare with you at all times!! They simply don't have the longevity of an in tank or engine mounted mechanical pump. Make your install easy to change on the side of the road too without hassle (6AN connections ect.)

Low pressure fuel pump. Carbureted. Buy it!!
Bought to replace the same unit on my c10 carb truck and it fired right up first try. I don’t have any other pressure sensors, guages or devices in the system to regulate pressure. Just the pump and supplied filter

Use Rubber washers when mounting to frame.
This is great for On frame pump right at the tank. It does not work mounted on fender beside motor. It is made to push fuel, not pull. Worked good that way. Can't beat price. Had this on 89 f250 for about 2 years with 500 holley 2 barrel carburetor. Plenty of fuel.

primes the carb after car has been sitting a few days or weeks , car start every time , no more waiting for the mach pump to prime the carb I only use this when starting the car . that or when racing to make sure there is no loss of fuel pressure with mech pump . if you have an older non fuel injected car this helps with reliability , car starts every time , don't need to crank the engine to get fuel to the carb . worth the money . Also easy to instal in cramped quarters can fit almost anywhere

Online this fuel pump looked larger . It is not compatible with my truck so I am returning for refund.
