Very nice doorbell where you don't have doorbell wiring. Extremely easy to install; pretty easy to remove and charge the battery. Installed a memory chip for picture/video storage -- took about 5 seconds to install the memory. Camera images are not super high resolution but are pretty good (see image I just took from the doorbell). We are away from this home about 6 months at a time each year and just charge the battery right before we leave. We don't use the motion detection but we get an immediate phone call when someone rings the bell. The battery drains very slowly in this mode and based on testing thus far, it should easily be good for 6 months. We tried using the motion detection when we are there but too much feedback. There are options on this doorbell that would work better to detect people, but we don't really need it. Good enough to ring the bell in the house and ring our cell phones - we just turn on the camera on the phone, and can see who it is and talk to them. This works great when we are away and when we are in. When in, we are frequently down at our dock -- and can answer the doorbell from there. If you want motion detection engaged and want to record video while motion detection is active, you can do that but the battery won't last a long time. They do have a slightly more expensive model with all the features of this unit with a higher res camera that connects to doorbell wiring if you want to record that. I absolutely hate all of the subscription BS every vendor on earth is trying to get you to buy. We can avoid it with this doorbell which more than meets our needs. I would definitely buy this again!

I absolutely hate the fact that nearly everything you buy now requires some kind of subscription. You CAN get cloud-based services with this camera, but it also records to a microSD card. This doorbell is really good - picture is clear, and you can easily adjust it to only ping you when there's an actual person at your door, rather than having it ping you for every car and squirrel that goes by. Picture quality great. The talk feature is good, although the app makes you push the microphone button and then hold down a talk button. It's secure; you won't accidentally be heard before you want to be, but it creates a bit of a lag—but just a second or two. Battery life? I've had it out there for nearly a month, and it's still over 70%. I was worried that I'd be taking it in to charge it every week . . . nope. It's great. This is a winner. Inexpensive, no cloud subscription needed. Get this one. You won't be disappointed. I put a camera on the back of my house - the 1080 battery version of this - and even at 1080p, the picture is good. Love this system. Just click "buy" already.

Has excellent day and nighttime video and audio quality. It’s also adjustable to how sensitive person and movement recognition are picked up, so if you live on a busy street, you can tailor how often you are notified. The only downside is only one person can have access to watch playback recordings, so I would love for their app to allow multiple account members to have full access. Otherwise a great purchase and fantastic price. Easy product to set up and be able to hardwire or operate on a rechargeable battery.

Great door bell video camera. Videos are detailed and sharp with a very wide angle veiw. It captures everything. Many useful features are included with tapo products. Love the you don't need a subscription with tapo security cams. They accommodate a 512gb micro SD card. This doorbell has a spotlight feature. All tapo cams give you a month of free cloud to make up your mind on that extra investment. The batteries powered tapo products have large batteries that give many months of daily use without needing to recharge often . I own 4tspo security cam so I will invest in their cloud service for the extra protection since their annual cloud fees are not too expensive.

Secure. Easy install. Sound is good. Picture is great. View angle would be nice to see downward more. Connects super fast. Motion detection is great, albeit slow. Highly configurable with multiple settings, options, and triggerable events. Battery life is kinda poor though. Still the local storage unit I recommend to everyone.

I used Ring for many years but didn't like what they did with their privacy (or lack of) policy. I tried the Boifun J1 and J7 and those were pretty good, but there was a lag (decryption) when viewing the video (either motion detection, history, or live). This one had good reviews, so I gave it a try. It works great. The app walks you through the set up from turning it on all the way through mounting and pairing the included chime. The 2K resolution is very clear, and the color night vision is great (you have the option of having color night vision always or only when the doorbell is rung). I'll see if the battery lasts the 6 months as described (but I've changed some setting so I may not get that). If I get 3 months, it's an improvement over the Ring and the Boifun. The responsiveness, which was my main need, is terrific. Motion is sensed and notifications are sent very quickly, and most importantly, there is no delay or lag in the app to view the video from a doorbell press, motion, or live view. Video is not automatically recorded in live view, you need to hit record. The app lets you share the doorbell with family (they have to create their own TP-Link account). A really nice feature is that you can change the color of the doorbell button outline LED. There are about 7 choices including purple, pink, green, blue. This has exceeded my expectations.

I purchased the D210 smart doorbell in 2024 to replace my Ring doorbell because subscription to cloud was not required and I could save the footage to a microSD card to store locally. I’m glad I made the change especially when the D210 cost half the Ring’s price. The system was very easy to mount and set up and the system came with a chime which was nice. The video is good and clear. However the videos were very bright and washed out when pointing towards the street. I contacted Tapo about this issue and Otto from customer support replied promptly and fixed the issue. A few months later the issue came back with the new firmware. I contacted customer support and again Otto came through and resolved the issue to my satisfaction. I am happy with my purchase and great customer support from Tapo. I also recommended the same doorbell to my son.

Works get! We love it so far. We are definitely a Tapo house. We already had 5 cameras set up and this just put us on another level of security. We can adjust the doorbell tone, volume level and the camera on it is pretty awesome. Installation was easy as well.
