Excellent product, amazing app!
Update-was able to find problem areas in the home and got the lowest electric bill in 9 months! Home humidifier was running way too much, made adjustments and it’s fixed. Devices drawing power but not being used now turned off. Furnace setting adjusted to make it more efficient. This will pay for itself in 2.5 months. Solid product, quality components and killer app! Installation was quick and painless. The connection viaWiFi was flawless and it started reading my panel instantly. Responds to changes in loads almost instantly and provides very accurate readings throughout the day. The app has everything you need to monitor your home. It’s clear they have thought of just about everything. My only complaint is the length of the cable they provide for the WiFi antenna. I mounted it on the bottom of the panel and haven’t had connection issue but would have preferred to have it on top.

Awesome and easy to set up, really neat to see what everything uses.
Incredible product! I don’t write many reviews. I bought this months ago. It works awesome! I had a question and called tech support. Actually spoke with a very nice tech right away. Was surprisingly tech savvy, no stupid ia assistant or long pause pushing zero for representatives. I have Solar and two electrical panels. No room in my outside panel for incoming and outgoing monitoring. So I used 4 sensors on the stuff in the outside panel. 2 heat pumps, pool equipment, and incoming power from my solar array. Worked well. Easily able to set either 220 or 120, incoming solar, and easily able to label each sensor to what is powered. I need more than the 16 sensors! I would like one for each breaker. I have found out how much power my pool cleaner pump takes. It’s ridiculous. I will find a more efficient one soon. 1st pic is the panel, yes going to shorten the wires. No connectivity issues, but I still haven’t replaced the panel… 2nd is instant use… 3rd is daily… 4th is monthly…. 5th yearly, but not a full year The pool equipment is crazy high…. Double checked it. I see how stupid inefficient my cleaner pump is. The normal pump is a variable pump and super efficient. So I can see instantly when pool cleaner comes on a how much it takes. If I didn’t have it, I would reduce my usage dramatically!

Great app and extremely accurate energy monitoring
I rarely write reviews, but this is one product that truly deserves it. The Emporia energy monitor and companion app have been one of the most useful additions to my home. Accuracy (This impressed me the most) Before trusting any energy monitor, I wanted to confirm the readings were accurate. I compared Emporia’s totals directly against my utility meter over multiple days and the results matched almost exactly. That level of accuracy gave me a lot of confidence in the data the system provides. Real Time Visibility The live energy view in the app is fantastic. You can literally watch your power usage change as appliances turn on and off. It quickly teaches you how much electricity different things in your home actually use. For example, I was able to clearly see: • My dryer cycling between high power while heating and very low power between heating cycles • Refrigerator compressor cycles throughout the day • The exact power draw from my electric range and other appliances • My home's baseline energy usage when very little is running This kind of visibility is incredibly helpful for understanding where your electricity bill is really coming from. The App The Emporia app is clean, responsive, and easy to use. It lets you: • Monitor individual circuits • See real time usage • Track daily, weekly, and monthly consumption • Download detailed usage data The ability to export usage data is something I particularly appreciate because it allows deeper analysis if you want to track things more closely. Installation and Setup Setup was easier than expected. Once installed, the system immediately began reporting data in the app. Labeling circuits and adding additional sensors was straightforward and makes the monitoring even more useful. Customer Service Experience I also had a very positive experience with Emporia’s customer service. I contacted them regarding a price difference after purchasing several sensors directly from them and later noticing a bundle deal elsewhere. Their support team responded promptly and handled the situation immediately and professionally. It is always reassuring to see a company stand behind their customers and resolve issues quickly. What I would love to see improved The only improvement I would suggest is expanding notification alerts and downloadable data support for smart plugs the same way it currently works for circuit clamps. That would make an already great system even better. Bottom Line If you want to truly understand your home's electricity usage and have confidence that the numbers are accurate, the Emporia system and app are excellent. It has helped me track appliance usage, estimate my electric bill very accurately, and better understand how my home consumes electricity. Highly recommended.

Already saving money!
This is a great product that has been very reliable and provided peace of mind for my house. It would be 5 starts if they allowed local control or live control for 3rd parties like home assistant or if it was matter enabled. It's been installed for a week and has been great. Tracks less then 2% variance from my electrical meter. It has helped me same energy already.

Very useful and seriously cool
This device is seriously cool and extremely useful if you need or want to monitor your home's energy usage. In my case, I added it to my electrical panel because I finally bought an 11,000 peak-watt inverter generator for backup power and wanted to get a handle on my home's power usage so I could understand what circuits I could turn on while running on generator power alone, as well as monitor generator draw to make sure I was staying within the capability of my generator. Very illuminating and very helpful! I'm not using solar or any other fancy stuff but the device/app would handle that effectively. Easy for a non-electrician to install The app is simple and very useful. I set it up to monitor only the mains in my typical split-phase system, and also put a couple of 50A CT sensors on the 50A circuit breaker where the generator inputs were so that I could monitor the draw on the generator when it was running. It works great for that. The only downside is that if the main power goes down, my wireless internet router goes down too and I lose monitor function. I addressed that by including the computer room (with wireless router) as one of the circuits that the inverter generator powers when the generator comes online. After the wireless router re-boots, I can resume monitoring the generator draw via the Emporia Vue 3 app. You have to remember to re-power the circuit breakers that are supplying power to the Emporia Vue device. Currently, I'm in the process of developing a profile of energy usage by watching the real-time monitor for reaction of the home power when I turn various devices such as water well, furnace, water heater, stove top, microwave, refrigerators/freezers, etc. Very, very helpful.

Accurate and Easy to Use
We are using much more electricity than I anticipated, so I had the utility company investigate the meter and also ordered the new Emporia Vue Gen3. The instructions for setting up the device are very straightforward and in my case, we have a modern load center and it can be done easily by a handy person. That being said, you are operating in an area where you can easily electrocute yourself when not paying attention. If in doubt, let a licensed electrician do this. The hookup with a modern panel that has enough room will take somewhere in the realm of 15 minutes. YMMV with older installations. Now the amazing piece is, that the accuracy of this device is easily within 1% of what the utility company claims. I am very impressed with how quickly and accurately the device measures the load and displays changes. You can look at the consumption at different resolutions: A given circuit's usage per Second, Minute, Hour, Day, Week, Month, and so on. The finest levels of resolution like Second or Minute are only kept for a limited amount of time (nobody will scroll back that far anyway), but the coarser resolutions will be kept indefinitely. This system works incredibly well. I can see in the finest resolution if I turn a device on or off immediately. But when I look back on how much my Water Heater used last week I need seldom a finer resolution than the hour. If the 16 sensors aren't enough you can either shuffle them around or buy a 2nd Vue and nest them to get more coverage. Alternatively, if you have more circuits than sensors, or, if you want to monitor devices on a given circuit separately you can add Emporia Smart Plugs. That allows you to single out power hogs or add more monitoring capabilities without having to buy another full Vue. Once you nest the plugs into your setup the graphs are smart enough to display your usage correctly. I am very happy with the device and can wholeheartedly recommend it at this point. We figured out that our AC is running a lot more than it should because the insulation in the attic is sub-par and a bunch of devices that didn't need to run were wasting energy in the house. Effectively the Vue has already paid for itself.

Perfect Energy Monitor
I love this thing. The app is smooth and has all the features you would want when purchasing something like this. Im going to try the smart plugs next since I have circuits that run utilities along with other devices, so hopefully the plugins can focus just on the utility instead of everything else that is on the circuit. I have found some high energy users in my garage that I turned off and plenty of other great pieces of information. Install was 5 minutes. I was going back and forth between Emporia and the Refoss or the other smart monitors that are supposed to auto track when they see a spike. But I dont think they would work well especially with how many devices are in a home now. Im very happy with this purchase. My long term plan is to identify how much money we are spending with using window unit A/C, Pellet Stove, and Boiler and compare those to a heat pump system paired with some solar panels. Im having a lot of fun playing with this and would recommend it for anyone tracking their usage. Emporia has done an excellent job in this market.

Great Way to Monitor Energy Consumption
I ordered this to compliment my Sense energy monitor. I’ve been using Sense for several years and while that was great for some things, it didn’t give me enough information on what was actually using power. The Emporia functions differently than Sense, and each have pros and cons. From an installation standpoint, Sense was much easier because it doesn’t need individual circuit sensors. My circuit breaker panel was very crowded to begin with, and it was a challenge to get the 18 CT clamps in place for the Emporia and now my panel looks very messy inside. I get much more accurate readings with the Emporia than I do with Sense. Emporia shows the actual power being consumed by each circuit, where Sense only makes a guess at each detected device. For example, Sense detected my heat pump compressor, but it always uses the same power value when it detects that it turns on so it always reports 3.2kW. With Emporia’s sensor directly at the circuit breaker, I can see that the power ranges between 2.8kW and 4.2kW depending on the outside temperature. During the hot summer months, Sense will drastically under count my heat pump’s consumption. From an app standpoint, I like Sense a lot better. The Emporia app looks very dated in comparison, but it does what it is supposed to I guess. There are some things that I wish it could do, like let you pinch or spread to adjust the graphed data. There are also some things that should be a feature but aren’t for some reason. For example, I can’t set it up to get accurate readings for my clothes dryer in one entry. My dryer uses 240V for the heating element, but it uses a single 120V leg for everything else including the tumbler motor. I have a clamp on each leg so I can see the total power consumed, but it’s in two separate circuits that I have to add together. It should be easy to combine both into one sensor and let the app do the math, but this isn’t an option. On the Emporia forums it seems like this is an common request and Emporia says that it will be implemented “soon”, but they have been saying this for years so “soon” must have another meaning for them. It’s very handy for keeping an eye on malfunctions. I have a septic system that has an always-on aerator pump. When something goes wrong with the system, the pump turns off. I have an alert set up so that I get a notification if the pump stops working so I immediately know if there is a problem. I use Home Assistant at my home, and it was very easy to integrate the Emporia data into it. It works very well. It’s hard for me to say which is better, Sense or Emporia, because each one is so different. Sense is better at displaying real-time information, but Emporia is much more accurate on an individual circuit basis. The Sense app seems to be generations ahead of the Emporia app.
