Logitech MK540 Advanced Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo for Windows

I will preface this by saying that I am quite an aggressive typer :) I previously had a slimmer, quieter keyboard and a much flatter mouse. While they looked good, they were not suitable for a lot of typing. I really tried to get used to them but I am glad I bought another set. Just as I wanted, this is a no-frill, functional Keyboard + mouse combo. The keys are not particularly noisy, they are comfortable and very responding. The keyboard is heavy enough that it doesn't slide on my desk when typing but very lightweight otherwise. The mouse is comfortable too. Excellent value for money, it was immediately connected to my computer without any fuss. Will re-but once these are obsolete.

This is my second purchase of this keyboard and is due to the sticky fingers of my daughter and sugary drinks being spilt on it. Despite my best efforts of taking all the key caps off and cleaning the guts of the keyboard down, it still isn't like it was. A couple of the multimedia hotkeys are stuck and the enter key occasionally is jammed down so a replacement is needed. Keyboards are often the one thing that get overlooked and yet the one thing that gets used the most, so it needs to be comfortable. This keyboard has nice travel and the keys feel good to type on. This is the first keyboard I have bought without trying it first but having worked on a variety of Logitech keyboards for 35 years, I know what I'm looking for and what to expect. My previous keyboard was bought after trying different ones for half an hour in the shop and the one I went with served me for 22 years. That one was a Logitech, and was replaced with that one my daughter shared her drink with. I don't bother with the mouse as I use a Logitech Marble Mouse trackball which I bought on a whim in 1995, and upgraded that to USB version 10 years later. I mention the years in this review only to illustrate the longevity of Logitech peripherals. In conclusion, I recommend this keyboard, but I highly recommend you go into a computer shop and try different keyboards and see the differences in how they type. Get the one that works for you, but I'm confident this will be a winner.

I bought this as my current MS Keyboard was getting a little beyond the abuse it receives. The last keyboard was great, but it cost it too. This time around I wanted to go a little more reasonable, but set my expectations there too. Initial feedback was instant getting it out of the box. This is a budget keyboard, it will not hold up to much abuse! But, it is still a good keyboard. Lifting it from the box by one end, and the housing creaked, and the whole keyboard twisted! It is a little too flimsy for my liking. However, once on my desk mat, and typing away, this was not too much of a concern. They keys and the sizing and spacing are good, not great. The texture I can see annoying me and wearing out, probably getting grubby. But, it works, is adequate. I am not unhappy. But I do not see this lasting a year! Either by breaking, or becoming horrid to look at. We will see. The mouse, is a backup, I use an ergonomic one. It is way to small in the hand (medium to large hand I have). It has got a good weight, does look nice, is more solid than the keyboard, The wheel is bumpy when scrolling, but does not have additional left and right movement for horizontal scrolling. Adequate, but that is about it. Next time around - a little bit more will be spent. Depending upon whether a new ergo mouse is needed or not!

I have the MK270 which has done me proud for a few years, thought I'd upgrade to this as it was on sale. Kinda regret it, the key response is very bouncy in my opinion and it just feels a lot more flimsy, it's certainly not an upgrade. Thankfully I didn't pay full price. So I'll go back to my MK270 and this one will go on my spare desk. However, the mouse is much better, but sadly I can't take the mouse from this to the 270 keyboard. Update 19/04/22: I've increased the rating to 5 as I took the plunge and moved to using this keyboard when my K270 ran out of batteries at an inconvenient time. Now I'm used to it the bounce doesn't bother me at all and the quality difference is now clear. Been using it about 4 months now and in no hurry to switch back.

I bought this mouse/keyboard set to use the keyboard only in conjunction with my Logitech MX Vertical Ergonomic Mouse (bought separately), as they use the same 'Unifying' receiver. Set it all up with the Logi Options software and it worked. I could use both the MX mouse and MK540 keyboard with only one USB receiver. Next time I went to use my PC the keyboard was not recognized. So I set it up again, and it worked. Again, the next time the keyboard had lost connection. And so on.... The MX mouse always kept connection but the keyboard couldn't. So I returned it. On my other PC I have a much cheaper Logitech MK270 keyboard that has never lost USB receiver connection. It uses a different USB wireless receiver system, so it can't 'Unify' with my MX mouse. The MK270 combo mouse is a tiny, infant sized, hollow piece of uselessness though, but at the time it was cheaper to buy the set instead of just the standalone keyboard! The MK270 set would get 4 stars though in my book.

Buon kit, consiglio l'acquisto perchè hai la possibilità di spegnere tutti e due le periferiche tramite i due switch presenti sulla parte inferiore del mouse e in alto a destra sul frontale della tastiera, poi ho notato un tasto che dovrebbe indicare la carica della batteria della tastiera, premendolo si accende di verde un led per indicare che è carica. Compatibile con pc, amrt tv ecc

Diese Tastatur war eine echte Überraschung für einen unschlagbaren Preis. Mit deutschen Tastaturaufklebern auch hier sehr gut nutzbar, natürlich nur für den Heimgebrauch. Insgesamt eine wertige Tastatur mit leiser angenehmer Dämpfung. Die Maus ist gut in der Hand und wirkt durchaus wertig.
