The flanges that came with my pump are very hard and uncomfortable I bought these in hopes it would make pumping easier and more comfortable which it did. Great for elastic nipples and more affordable than competitors.

UPDATE: Seller reached out to me for full refund after posting review - I've added more clarity to the issues I had. I have elastic nipples and the natural swelling that happens during pumping is what caused my discomfort. These could be great for others who may not experience that while pumping. For the price, it might be worth a try if you loathe the plastic hard flanges like I do. I did not try to return or receive a refund at the time of my purchase because I had used the product. I appreciate the company's efforts to make this right. Original review text: Something about the angle of the inlet where the nipple goes in very uncomfortable. After pumping when nipple is more swollen up, it is extremely painful to remove - feels like glass shards. I’ve tried loosening the suction etc and I’ve remeasured as well. Had to stop using because it was a terrible experience.

These are perfect for someone that has elastic nipples. There is an extender build it to the flange and the silicone makes it comfortable to wear.

EP with elastic tissue. Pre-pump I measure 18mm. I purchased the 21mm. I also tried the 24mm w/ 19mm inserts and found that 21mm no inserts work best for me. I use with Unimom Opera pump & detachable shield kit. I’ve used a lot of different products trying to get a comfortable pump (pumpables, pumpin pal, silicone cups, beagen cushions etc.). I wish I found these first! What I like: +The tunnel is longer than other flanges and completely clear. I can see when my flow starts and stops, and adjust my pump as needed. This has shortened my pumping session without decreased output. Keep in mind that the flanges will fog up if the flanges is cooler than the expressed milk. +The flanges don’t discolor after washing. +The soft silicone is gentle on the breasts. No pinching or uncomfortable pulling. Gentle enough to use after injury with other pumping products. +Fits perfectly in my Unimom Opera detachable shield body. No adapters needed. +Infinite use. You don’t need to replace frequently like other sets that combine silicone flanges with duckbills. Thing I dislike: I didn’t read the description carefully and used steam sanitization on the first pair I purchased. This distorted the silicone shape and made them unusable. Do not use steam sanitization on these!!

I think everyone will have different experiences with these but for me, I was very used to spectra or medela flanges of the same size but when I used these, they felt too big causing the suction to pull harder. They were very painful for me to pump with so I think I may have just had the wrong size. When coupled with the bottle attachments, they also are very long and make the bottles sit quite far from your body. This led to them being heavier and pulling the flange so the seal wasn’t very strong. Again, all relative I think based on body type, size, and what’s comfortable for each individual. Just wasn’t for me.

I almost gave up pumping because of very elastic nipples but tried these flanges as a last-ditch effort. I lubricate them with olive oil before each use and they have been working really well for me now for about 5 months. These have worked better for me than the green pumpin pals, and I think part of that is because the Idaho Jones flanges have a section with a larger diameter than the initial part of the flange tunnel. This seems like a great design to handle some of the swelling that can occur with elastic nipples. I highly recommend trying out these flanges if you have elastic nipples and nothing else is helping. They are a bit heavy because of the material so can sometimes cause bottles to knock over if the bottles aren't full enough.

Updated comment: Good customer service. I was contacted and was offered a refund by Idaho Jones. I heard it works great for some people just not for me. I think it's worth a try for the price point and customer service. If you are not satisfied contact them for a refund. I heard good things but it's not what I expected. First it's bulkier than even the regular Spectra flange. Second no milk came out after 15 minutes of pumping. I then switched to my legendairy flange (which has a silicone shield to the flange) and milk started flowing out 1 minute resuming pumping. I am returning this item. Not recommended!

I bought these after struggling to find a comfortable flange set up. I had been eyeing a set of lacteck flanges and came across these which were not only cheaper, but free next day shipping through prime. I took a chance and do not regret at all! These are great. They can be a little pinchy (could just be my anatomy) but a nice coating of coconut oil fixes that for me.
