Step-Saving If You Prepare Properly
These Tapcon screws are used to skip the step of drilling a larger hole and inserting a plastic or led plug. There are four challenges: The drilled hole needs to be the accurate size for the screw because you don't have the extra margin that a plastic allows. Similarly, when you drill the hole, you don't want the bit to wander which is often a challenge with concrete. You may want to try drilling a smaller masonry bit starter hole. At minimum, create a divot with a center punch. You need to be careful turning these screws so they don't snap part way through. Try hand turning one to get the feel in the hardness of the concrete before using a drill / driver and definitely before an impact driver. The branded masonry bit for these screws are pricey and last for a limited number of screws -- unless the tip unfortunately chips off sooner. You might want to confirm the size and buy some masonry bits in that size in bulk.

Masonry Screws Worked Perfectly
These masonry screws did their job perfectly. They were easy to use and held securely just as expected. I’m very satisfied with their performance and would use them again for similar projects.

Great product
I bought the wrong size, but these are very convenient. I wish they made these back in the day. Great product.

Strong and secure in concrete
These are good quality screws. They fasten and hold securely. Very functional for all types of concrete work. I’m not a huge fan of the star drive bugle head but that’s on me, I should have looked closer for a Phillips head. But I am a fan of these screws. Very worth buying for concrete projects.

Wood to concrete, cement cure
I used this to secure some wood trim for outside door. Hold wood to brick or cement. All you have to do is use the correct drill bit as indicated, and you are fine. Just use a regular hammer drill for the hole and you will be fine. I tried sds plus hammer but hole was alittle loose.

Solid as a rock
These things are amazing and hold into concrete block like they were built in from the factory. You need a hammer drill to drill the hole first but then they go in with no fuss and are solid as a rock. I used these to build a fireplace surround with steel stud framing that backed up in the concrete blocks and this isn't going anywhere. They are solidly holding up the framing, concrete board, stone face and stone mantle. I couldn't be happier with how easy to install and how solid they are. Can I give them 6 stars?

Great product. Fastened into the concrete slab well. Remember to drill your pilot a 1/4" longer than the screw. The drill bit included in the kit worked better than expected and I didn't have to purchause additional drill bits. I received 3 drill bits inside the tub and a t25 drill bit. I didn't use the drill bit as it was short and didn't fit into my powered drill. My only small nik pik would be a handfull of the screwheads didn't for properly and didn't fit the screw bit. But it was probably 2 or 3 out of the 225pcs.

These will likely be fine, but the package was broken open when I opened the bag Amazon shipped it in, and no drill bit was in the package or bag. So I guess I still have to get the masonry bit…

Screw heads broke off, Tapcon wouldn’t help. Garbage and waste of money.
