What opamps does this use?

I have an at-lp60 turntable with built-in phono preamp that can be switched off. will this t3preamp allow me to get a louder signal than the built-in?

I would think so. Your TT lists preamp output at 36db/150mv and this units selections start at 39db >45db/600mv. Should be a significant increase. (Been using mine for a few years now. Great unit)

What are the sonic differences between this and the other t3 "improved" mmm phono unit? are the op amps different?

Trying to answer your question the best I can I am not sure what do you improve models do but I can tell you it’s my understanding that changing op amps add more power rather than affect the sonic sound quality

My Dual 510 turntable does neither has nor needs a ground connection. Will this be problematic?

If your turntable is design to have an isolated/separate ground from the preamp/amplifier then I wouldn't think it would not be a problem. If you choose to buy one and you have hum issues then I would return it. I don't have a schematic for either the preamp or the DC power supply that plugs into it. So I don't know if the preamp ground is floating or not. Not having the turntable and preamp grounded can produce ground loops that may introduce buzz or hum into the signal(sound output). Since your turntable doesn't have a ground I would think it doesn't matter.
