i mean they're latch locks. built pretty nice but didn’t hold up well in a break in

Hook & Eye…don’t think so, hmmm.
Well, didn’t expect the metal to be thinner than a coat hanger. Likely adequate if you want to secure a box of Kleenex, definitely not a dog behind a screen door. The super slick coating on wire may prevent rust (until dinged), but the slippery-ness actually kinda makes the the hook part pop up & slip out of the eye part too easily. Strictly for lightweight purpose!

hard to find at the hardware store anymore... used them on our RV to keep some doors from swinging open on travel days..
