Having always had the desire to add an elusive Arabica coffee from Vietnam to their already exotic line of coffees, the owner of The Exotic Bean set out on his quest to do so. With Vietnam being the #2 producer of coffee worldwide, most of it being a lower quality Robusta bean, he discovered there were small pockets in Nothern Vietnam that produce excellent Arabica coffee as well. This quest took him to the west of the Hoang Lien Son mountain range in the Chieng Ban, Son la province of Vietnam. Here is discovered a small 100-year-old family farm using old school farming techniques growing exclusively high-quality Arabica coffee. Not surprisingly, this area's growing conditions are almost identical to that of Sao Paolo, Brazil, the world's #1 coffee producing region.
