Aran Crafts Irish Soft Cable Knitted Crew Neck Unisex Sweater (100% Pure New Wool)

these are amazing sweaters. super warm, breathable, realatively lightweight, well-made, classic, reasonably priced for the quality. i have the charcoal and the ecru. the charcoal is a rich dark grey that is close to black but the slightly lighter threads make the cable knit details pop. the ecru is obviously a lighter color that i'll probably use for contrast with a darker outer layer. i don't know what else one could ask for in a wool sweater than what Aran Crafts has put together here. the sweater isn't super-bulky but it doesn't seem like any stitches were wasted. it's on the medium side of things in the thickness scale. it's versatile enough to be an outer or mid layer, and has the merino quality of temperature regulation. because it's merino, it doesn't feel too scratchy against bare skin like some other types of wool. this sweater can easily compare in quality to others costing 2 or even 3 times as much. you probably wont find a better-made merino sweater anywhere. it's thick enough to be effective in winter, but breathable enough to work in spring or fall. by itself it can handle temps in the 50s or even 40s with a long sleeve t under. if you use it as a mid layer, you can weather much colder temps, depending on your outer layer. the style is classic and soemwhat understated. not trendy, just essential.

I spend a lot of time in Ireland and have several Aran seaters and can attest that this is the REAL thing at an amazing price. I've paid twice as much for the same thing in Ireland! Quality is superb. This is Merino wool which is quite soft and not scratchy. As with all Merino wool Aran sweaters, the weave is open slightly throughout allowing the sweater to naturally breath so it's good for all sorts of weather.. I really am a bit blown away by the price and quality of this sweater. So much so, I just ordered the Black Watch color for ten bucks less than the first! If you're looking for a beautiful Aran sweater, look no further. You will not find such exceptional quality at a better price!

Very attractive wool sweater with a great color and nice design. I'm not sure "soft" is really the right word, but it's not scratchy is comfortable to wear. Properly warm. The fit on the torso is perfect. The arms are a little shorter and snugger than expected and the cuffs are longer and tighter. The crew neck is more of a traditional crew neck rather than the over-sized opening that a lot of the pictures seem to show -- which, for me, is a positive. This is a great sweater for casual-nice wear and a stand-out at its price point.

Very high quality sweater, very strange fit. The sleeves are too short but everything else is perfect. I ordered a medium but according to the size guide, a large would probably be too big everywhere besides the sleeves. Good value though.

Firstly, let me just say that I think its a real shame that i have to buy from the mens side in order to get a good price on a wool sweater. This was on sale for $55; the womens were $100ish if im being generous. That said-- this sweater is nice. Its 100 percent wool-- so you get quality that you can keep forever if you wash it and takr care of it correctly (hot temperatures and agitation makes wool shrink into unwearable pieces. Absolutely DO NOT put in the washing machine. If you have to wash it cold water in a sink and then rinse, then lay flat to dry.) This sweater is a large and im a large woman-- 5'7 190lbs. I am long waist and thank the gods this sweater actually goes to my butt (another gripe, most womens tops dont reach my hips and im not even freakishly long waisted). Its more of an open weave/gauge so it actually breathes but is still warm. In the photo you can slightly see my pink floyd shirt-- youre going to want to wear a tshirt under this for comfort because of its "scratchy-ness" but come on its wool thats the price you pay for not wearing plastic. Wool is naturally water resistant, breathes better than polyester and acrylic, and can take one heck of a beating. Ill have this sweater until Im long gone. Its beautiful and well made.

Schöner Pullover Habe die Rundhalsversion da sie fast nur die Hälfte kostet. Ich liebe den leichten Duft von Schafen, der auch von diesem Pullover ausgeht. Der Duft kommt von dem Wollfett der Schafe, das die Wolle geschmeidig hält.

After washing only once, it becomes so small.. Would be good if I can return and get a bigger size

I bought this beautiful sweater for my husband. It is the warmest sweater he has ever owned and he looks very handsome wearing it and he doesn't find it picky to wear. It is a lovely spruce green with a beautiful pattern and the whole sweater is well made. He received several compliments on it the first time he wore it. I love that it was made in Ireland by an established company there and that it's 100% wool. It arrived in a timely manner and came with a nice little care instruction note about airing it frequently and washing it rarely.
