Solid calligraphy pens for beginners the 3 mm is difficult to use though. The brush tips can be used simply by putting pressure on the down strokes and not putting pressure on the up strokes. However, the mm type has to be turned when drawing making it more difficult for beginners. Though after using them for 3 months the ink turned less dark and it is less smooth.

This is a great set for doing most basic types of calligraphy. I'm by no means a professional- but these worked great for addressing holiday cards. I did a round of Thanksgiving and Christmas card envelopes, using mostly the same 2-3 pens, and they are still working as good as the day I started. Very high quality for this price range!

These pens, every size and nib, is smoother, darker and juicier than any of the rest in my collection. That includes Zig, Pentel, Zebra and others

I just got this pack in the mail. I was so excited to get my first set of pens! When I made my first marks with each pen (cause of excitement) I found that one of the pens was completely dry! Real disappointment. I haven't actually used them for real calligraphy yet but the other pens seem to be working well.

This is a great gift for beginners in hand lettering. Really easy to use! All the pens in the kit work AMAZING. The different brushes make this product the best in my opinion! Definitely a must have if your a artist! You can definitely make some amazing letters as well as art with this product!

The pens are well designed and ink quality is very good. The ink dried with in few minutes.My local store store sells the almost same or lower quality pens for around 2.49 each. 10 pens at 10.59 is little over a dollar per pen. This is a very good price. Over all these are good pens and strongly recommend giving it a try.

Well...I can’t give these a 4 since one of the pens came defective. Also, I was hoping for a more opaque coverage from these pigment pens. I am just testing on cheap paper so perhaps on better paper the ink won’t soak in so much. Of the 8 pens, one was a reject. The 1m tip was dry. I tried shaking it and standing it upside down and no improvement. Then I tried shaking it hard and ink sprayed out of the barrel near the tip. It, thankfully, only sprayed on the cover of the book I was working in. I would have been a lot more disappointed if it had gotten on furniture or clothing. They were not very expensive but it would have been nice to get a full working set. I’m sure I will use the rest of the pens. I’m just learning lettering and these will be great to practice with. The ink did seem to stay put once dry. I tried picking it up with old color markers to see if they would reactivate and move the ink. They did not. I’ll try my Tombows now that I know the ink probably won’t contaminate the tips. The 3m chisel tip was not very smooth but the rest of the pens, that work, seem to lay down the ink fairly smoothly. The sample photos in the sale information shows the ink as completely opaque but you can see from my samples that is not the case. I will chalk this product up to the old adage, “you get what you pay for.”

These work well you just have to experiment with the different sizes and the way in which they write.
