Mommy's Helper Baby Car Seat Sun Shade Cover, Reflective Heat Protector

I have the Evenflo Revolve 360 and it fits perfectly. I love this thing! We live in Florida and don’t have a garage so our car bakes in the sun all day. This thing makes a very obvious difference to the temp of the car seat. I don’t have to worry about my toddler being overheated or having to cool the car down forever before getting her in the car. Highly recommended if you live somewhere hot. I’ve had it for half of the summer and I’m so grateful I took the risk to buy it. For $17 bucks it’s a great value. Haven’t had issues with fit, tears, or anything like that. Buying a second for our other car.

(Orig review: August 2012) Prior to this I was using a thick sheet to cover our car seat ( Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite Convertible Car Seat, Nitron ). I desired something a bit more "neat," lightweight, and easier to store. USE Deploying this with one hand can be difficult, but I have not found it to be impossible. To aid in one-hand use I sort of peel it off and tuck under the car seat rather than completely remove it so that I can just pull/stretch it back over when ready. I have a very bulky car seat and this stretches fine to provide more than adequate coverage. PERFORMANCE Thus far I have been more than satisfied with the results. Once stretched on it stays on; no issues of slipping once in place. The car seat (buckles) remains a temperature in which I can still safely use it even on our hottest days. DURABILITY The product is quite thin. I expect to have to replace it at some point, but with care it should last long enough to not make this fact a concern. For those who completely remove it to store there are elastic bands sewn in to help in neatly and safely storage. BOTTOM LINE I recommend this item. In fact, I'm purchasing another one for our other car seat. It is easy to use and does the job [if expectations are realistic]. No device is going to keep the interior of your car (and the things inside it) cool if you leave it baking in the sun. This product is great in protecting your car seat [fabric] from sun damage and can help in keeping the plastic and metal at a safe temperature. This is a great tool, especially when used in conjunction with other preventive measures (sun shade for windshield, side window shades for back seat, parking in the shade, etc). **UPDATE** (June 2013) Just ordered a new one as a replacement. The reflective layer detached from the fabric layer and tore off. I think I've been pretty gentle on this, but it was used on a regular basis as I keep the seat covered when not in use so frequent tugging during the weekly commute. I'm satisfied with the use I got out of the first.

Good car seat shade cover. Easy to use but still traps some heat under the cover. But the metal pieces aren’t as hot so that’s a win!

Most definitely worth it! Fits over very well with my Graco 360. And didn’t even realize it had a string to tighten it! Which I had plenty of room. Checked the seat after a 80 degree day and they weren’t hot!

I bought 2 of these. They work great. The car seats still get hot, but not burn my kid hot. I can put the kids straight into their seats without having to cool the car first. To address some of the complaints in other reviews: - yes the car seat still gets hot, but what do you expect, the inside of a car gets upwards of 200° in 90°+ heat. But it keeps from making the metal skin burning hot. -the complaints about the material being cheap. What do people expect, it's $7. It does have 2 layers; the reflective and a thin fabric, but you still have to be careful. -the inconvenience and difficulty of putting it on while juggling kids: again, did you not think about how it would get put on before you bought it. It doesn't come with elves to do the work for you. And it's for car seats which means you have small children. You have to adjust accordingly; after I get the kids into the house I go back out and put the covers on. If we are running errands, I have the kids sit in the front seat while I put them on. Overall I'm happy to have these cover for the summer. I live in an area where I only need them for the summer months so I don't need them to last long. I'll buy new ones next summer.

Mommy of two living in AZ. So far this seems to work pretty well. It still gets hot and the metal will still sting, but for the most part it is considerably cooler than the seat would be without it. The material seems pretty cheap and I am worried that it won't last that long once the real summer heat hits and makes it brittle. But we will see... Tip for moms with toddlers...when putting the cover on to cover the seat...the best approach is to use both hands and go across the seat. For example, my daughter's seat is on the driver's side of the car, so I reach in and put the cover on the far side of the seat, then with both hands pull it over towards me and the door. Goes right on super easy...trying to go top to bottom or vise versa is just harder. It tends to slip off. Overall, decent product for the money...we will see how it does come July and August here is Phx

I'm a little baffled by the reviews that say this product doesn't work. It does exactly what it is supposed to do: reflects the sun's rays and keeps the surface of the car seat from heating up too much. We used to use towels on our car seats; I feel that this sun shade works better, both because it covers the seat more fully and because it reflects light better. Yes, the car seat is still a bit warm on a hot day, but it is cool enough to be safe for my child. These covers stretch a lot. The shade covers my Chicco Nextfit very well, but it also covers the Diono Radian 100 in my husband's car. (We got the two pack of sunshades, just for the record.) The cover has to stretch more to cover the Radian, but it does cover it. The one complaint that has some truth to it is that it DOES take two hands to cover a car seat. In this respect, using an old beach towel is easier: you may be able to just flip a towel over the car seat with one hand and go. (Actually, I CAN'T do that, but maybe you can; I am clumsy!) So, yeah, it can be difficult to safely control your child while you cover up his/her seat. But I think the better protection you get from a sun shade is worth the extra work of covering up the car seat. Bottom line: these shades are really quite inexpensive. I don't know why you wouldn't want one, to be honest, especially if you live in a hot, sunny climate.

Es exactamente lo q se ve en la fotografía. Se ajusta perfectamente a la silla y la goma que trae para recogerlo cuando no lo usas es muy práctica.

Le quedó perfecto al autoasiento Graco Sequel de mi bebé. Hasta el momento no se calientan los artefactos metálicos y hemos llegado en mi ciudad a 35 grados. Además protege los colores de las telas y del polvo. Buena relación calidad - precio.

Finalmente dopo tante ricerche ho trovato quello giusto, finendo di arrostire mio figlio quando lasci la macchina sotto al sole nelle giornate di sole. Lo consiglio a tutti quelli che hanno un figlio e quelli come me che ogni volta che stava per mettere in macchina il figlio soffriva con lui quando lo metteva nell’ovetto bollente

Ich benutze diese Abdeckung für unseren Maxi Cosi Axiss. Und was soll ich dazu sagen? Er erfüllt seinen Zweck. Natürlich ist es etwas lästig, im Auto immer so eine Abdeckung rum fahren zu haben. Aber mit dem Gummi lässt es sich schnell und einfach zu einem Päckchen packen, das dann in die Autotasche passt. Zuvor hatten wir das Problem, dass trotz Sonnenschutzrollos der Kindersitz stark aufwärmte. Ganz schlimm die Plastik- und Metallteile. Ein einfaches Handtuch würde es vermutlich auch tun. Aber dieser Bezug hält gut und sicher. Hat sich für uns gelohnt!

A great product that I used in the summer. It keeps the karst from the heat of the sun and also keeps it clean from dust. I recommend it.
